Japan’s shares jumped on Tuesday as investors came back from a long weekend to react to the U.S.-China interim trade deal. Elsewhere, optimism about that agreement has faded, with Treasuries advancing. Equity trading was muted outside of Tokyo, where benchmarks jumped by more than 1.5% -- even outpacing the gains on Wall Street last Friday. Hong Kong’s stocks nudged higher at the open, while they dipped in China, and were little changed in Australia and South Korea. Crude oil fell, trading below $54 a barrel in New York. - Bloomberg
