Japanese shares led gains in Asia Tuesday after U.S. equities climbed to a record, propelled by optimism for a trade deal, encouraging earnings and expectations for another Federal Reserve interest-rate cut. Ten-year Japanese bond yields hit the highest in more than two months, following gains in Treasury yields. While the Topix headed for a 2019 high in Tokyo, shares were little changed in Seoul and Sydney. Shanghai stocks dipped, and Hong Kong was little changed.
